The end of the world is approaching... This documentary video retraces my journey to a revolutionary island which did not go according to plan. It was a journey that shook me up and profoundly changed my perception of the future. How do we deal with the current climate emergency? What do we need to prepare for? What can we do about it?

The trip shook me up, opening my eyes to the various issues we face when it comes to the current climate emergency. Accompanied by Stéphane Genoud, an expert in Energy Transition, he reveals to me the challenges ahead, the necessary anticipations, and the solutions to prepare us for the world of tomorrow.

Dr Stéphane Genoud offers a non-exhaustive bibliography on the subject covered in the Denyzee video.

Travelling is an integral part of our lives today. Whether it’s a spontaneous road trip, or going overseas, there are lots of ways to get around. In this video we decided to examine the consequences of the choices we make when we travel in terms of the means we choose or the distance we cover. So, we embarked on the 2nd longest Canadian train trip, crossing the continent from the east to west, outside our comfort zone and asking ourselves the right ecological questions while observing the changing landscape and the climatic impact our choices have on the environment.

Summary of the video study

The trip isn’t inherently ecological, but not travelling can’t be the solution. This is especially true since travel and tourism are among the largest employers in the world: almost 10 % of all the globe’s jobs are tied to travel and tourism. The sector is vital in many less developed and developing countries. We can continue to travel, but we must do it wisely and conscientiously. If we want to slow and eventually stop global warming and climate change, we must reach the net zero target as quickly as possible. We have to reduce emission across all sectors of our economy and society. If you absolutely must travel, it’s important to offset your CO2 emissions. The MyClimate app allows you to do that.
